We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee and deliver engineering and capital projects within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications and role requirements:
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a project or engineering role within a manufacturing environment (automotive or steel manufacturing experience advantageous).
  • Experience in press, weld, or tooling environments will be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and technical processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering and capital projects from initiation to completion.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and allocated resources effectively.
  • Coordinate equipment installations, production line modifications, and process improvements.
  • Liaise with production, maintenance, quality teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Support the industrialisation of new products, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure proper project documentation, reporting, and close-out procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and project environment.
