The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily activities of the logistics team to ensure the efficient storage, handling, and delivery of goods. The role focuses on overseeing logistics operations, managing staff, controlling inventory accuracy, and ensuring orders are processed and delivered correctly.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments to maintain smooth logistics operations, ensure compliance with relevant procedures and regulations, and drive continuous improvement within the logistics function

Qualifications and role requirements:
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Relevant Diploma or qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain, including experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience within automotive manufacturing, manufacturing, or a related industry will be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of logistics systems, procedures, and applicable legal and operational standards.
  • Good leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer literacy and experience with logistics or inventory systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the logistics team.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, including storage and distribution.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy and order fulfilment.
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Allocate work to team members and monitor productivity and performance.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues relating to deliveries, inventory, and logistics processes.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Monitor logistics performance and implement improvements where required.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and operational standards.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to logistics staff to maintain high operational standards.
