Our client is seeking an experienced Gas Cutter to join their team in Gqeberha. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out gas cutting activities safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and adhering to all relevant health and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience using a cutting torch, hold a relevant welding certification, and be medically fit for the role.
Qualifications and role requirements:
- Proven experience using a cutting torch
- Relevant welding certification
- Clear criminal record
- Must be medically fit and able to perform the physical requirements of the role
- Traceable and contactable references
- Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform gas cutting activities according to operational requirements
- Safely operate cutting torches and related equipment
- Prepare, position, and cut materials according to specifications
- Inspect completed work to ensure the required standards are met
- Conduct basic checks on equipment and report any faults or defects
- Maintain a clean and safe working area
- Follow all health, safety, and company procedures
- Use the required personal protective equipment at all times
- Work effectively with supervisors and other members of the team
- Carry out additional reasonable duties related to the position as required
