Our client is seeking reliable and experienced Code 8 Drivers to join a dynamic team based in Gqeberha. The ideal candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods while maintaining high standards of professionalism and road safety.
This role is best suited for individuals who are punctual, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering excellent service.
Qualifications and role requirements:
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence
- Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Proven driving experience in a similar role
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and routes
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Clear criminal record (advantageous)
- Physically fit and able to handle loading/offloading if required
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely transport goods and/or passengers to designated locations
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips
- Ensure vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and well-maintained
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and incidents
- Report any vehicle faults, delays, or incidents immediately
- Assist with loading and offloading when required
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries
