An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and experienced Boilermaker to join a high-performing workshop team in Isando. We are seeking a motivated artisan with strong fabrication and welding experience who can thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for workshop fabrication, welding, installation, maintenance, and repair work to ensure machinery and equipment operate efficiently with minimal downtime. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting strict operational deadlines.
Qualifications and role requirements:
- Trade Tested Boilermaker Certificate
- Minimum 4–5 years’ workshop fabrication experience
- Experience with MIG, TIG, CO2, stainless steel, and aluminium welding
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
- Must be medically fit
- No criminal record
- Valid driver’s licence advantageous
- Strong understanding of workshop safety procedures and tools
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform general workshop fabrication and boilermaking duties
- Conduct MIG, TIG, CO2, stainless steel, and aluminium welding
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery and workshop equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Use hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure all work is completed according to safety and quality standards
- Perform maintenance and fault-finding tasks
- Work overtime and travel out of town when required
- Meet strict production and operational deadlines
- Maintain housekeeping and workshop safety standards
